

Viola Louise Isabel Light, 93, passed away on January 26, 2025. Viola was born on August 31,1931 to O.C and Isabel Smith in Toledo, Ohio. Viola was described as a simple woman, taking joy in watching Grit TV, particularly enjoying John Wayne and Clint Eastwood, listening to Elvis, Bingo scratchers, and caring for children. So much so that Viola dedicated over 60 years to taking care of children. She owned a home daycare for over 40 years before becoming the nursery worker for the Mustang Church of God, where she stayed for 20 years.
In 1950, Viola married William Light, and they spent the next 32 years building their family before his passing in 1982. Viola achieved several milestones in her life however, two stand out; at the tender age of 72 she graduated high school with her GED and at the age of 93, Viola received her “Smuckers’ Jar”. Although, she never reached the age of 100, family still recognized Viola with her own Jar. Viola was quiet, but she loved being surrounded by family and friends.
Viola is survived by her daughters, Louise Bayless and Marie Creekmore; 9 grandchildren;25 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and 1 sister, Charlotte Light. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Light; son, Billy Light; 2 brothers, Melton and Pete Smith; and her parents, O.C and Isabel Smith.
Services for Viola will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 1,2025 at Advantage Funeral Home Chapel, located at 7720 S. Pennsylvania Ave, OKC, OK. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery, Sapulpa, Oklahoma.
