Warren J. Sarber, Jr. passed away peacefully on July 28, 2013 in Oklahoma City. He was born on June 23, 1945 to Catherine and Warren J. Sarber, Sr. in Wewoka, Oklahoma. He attended Western State Colorado University in Gunnison, CO, East Central University in Ada, and the University of Oklahoma where he joined Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Jim then began work in the Insurance industry, working as Chief Rate Analyst for the Oklahoma Insurance Dept. and most recently Union Mutual Insurance Company. Along with traveling (his favorite trip was to Alaska during a summer break in college), watching old movies, fishing and telling colorful stories, Jim loved his family. He was blessed with Diana, his wife of 41 years, his daughter Shannon and son-in-law Michael. But above all else, 'Papa' adored his "babies," Drue and Reese, who gave him incomparable joy. He is preceded in death by his father and his brother, Barry Sarber. He is survived by his immediate family along with his mother, Catherine Carver, his sister Jan Sarber West and husband Steve of Anchorage, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Viewing will be on Wednesday at Guardian Funeral Homes West Chapel, 5820 NW 41 St. and visitation with the family will be from 6-8pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 10am at Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetary. The family would like to thank Dr. William Cook, Dr. Dennis Parker and the entire staff at Select Specialty Hospital for their compassionate care in Jim's final days. We are eternally grateful to you. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to the American Diabetes Association or Catholic Charities of Oklahoma City at 1501 N. Classen Blvd, OKC 73106.
