

Orval Wayne Ray, 63 of Oklahoma City passed away Sunday, November 20, 2011. Wayne was born in Oklahoma City to Orval and Ferne (McCage) Ray on September 30, 1948. After graduating from Southeast High School, Wayne enlisted in the US Army to serve his county in the Vietnam War. He took great pride in being a Veteran and was proud to fight for his country. After serving his country Wayne attended and graduated from the University of Oklahoma. Wayne became an Architect for the SAIC Benham Group where he was the project manager for the construction of what is now the Chesapeake Arena, the remodel of the Will Rodgers Airport as well as many other projects outside the state of Oklahoma. He took great pride in his work and the projects he was able to be a part of. Wayne’s hobbies included flying as well as the many muscle cars he owned over the years. He admired John Wayne and enjoyed watching all of his different movies. He loved his dear family and enjoyed spending time with them whenever he could. Survivors include his wife Karla Ford-Ray of the home, Daughters Vanessa Wonders and her husband Matt, Andrea Butefish and her husband R.J.; sons; Christopher and his wife Kristi and Patrick and his wife Haley, Sister; Katrina Eastwood and her husband Curtis; 6 grandchildren Kilie Duvall, Trinity Duvall, Ethan Wonders, Alexis Butefish, Gabriel Butefish and Baby A who join this earth very soon, a very special friend and the mother of his children Carla Ray, nieces Lauren Runner and Meagan Wilkes, nephew Ethan Sullivan and a host of other family, friends and co-workers whom he loved very much. A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 in the Chapel of Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
