William Turner (Tom) Houser, a long time resident of Choctaw, Oklahoma, was born on December 16, 1939 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and died of natural causes on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at the age of 84 years, 11 months and 4 days. He was also affectionately known as Grandpa Tommy, GranPap and PopPop.
William was preceded in death by his parents William D (Bill) and Wilma Christine and his sisters, Mary Sue and Elizabeth Ann. William is survived by his three children, Rene’, William and Wendy, eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
In his lifetime, William was a painting contractor by trade. He enjoyed hunting all types of wildlife including deer, antelope and bear. His greatest hunting triumph was an Alaskan bear. As a coon hunter, he had several Grand Night Champion dogs . He also had some race horses that he enjoyed.
William preferred being outdoors, riding the tractor, lawn mower or just walking the acreage. He had a soft spot for all dogs and loved them more than most people.
William was a consummate napper, and a pro at flipping through TV channels. He loved eating a good meal and would often refer to himself as a cookie monster.
We love him and will miss him greatly.
