Kennith was born the 5th of 6 children to James Richard and Bertha Elizabeth (Eager) Popejoy. After his father passed away at a very young age, he took his mother's new married name of Satterwhite.
He married Ellen Mosley on December 24, 1955. She was the love of his life. Together they raised their 2 children with the majority of those years living in Spencer, Oklahoma. They attended the Spencer Road Free Will Baptist and Harrah Church.
He worked various machinery jobs, and at the Oklahoma County Jail. He was the owner of Ken's Sod and Landscaping. For many years, he was a Spencer Auxiliary police officer. He loved being in the outdoors, and couldn't wait until it was time to mow the grass and work in his yard. The other love was decorating for Christmas. Each year he talked Ellen into more and more decorations, and started getting his yard ideas as soon as he stopped mowing. After Christmas, and before mowing, he would play wahoo, dominoes and cards with Ellen and family members. Especially his sister, Helen and her husband Bob.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Ellen by only 4 months and 4 days; also his parents, James Richard and Bertha; his siblings, Thomas, Clifford, Fred, Dorothy and Helen; three nephews, Joe Richard, Jerald and Keith; one niece, Linda Kay; all of his brothers-in-law, Bob Killion, Bill Bryan, Bob Duncan, Cleo, Ralph, Jack, Floyd, Lloyd, Junior, Leon, Ellis and B.J. Mosley; and sisters-in-law, Ruth Popejoy, Wiyizety Satterwhite, Doris Satterwhite, Noma Maxine Rounsaville, Evelyn Harms, and Lorene and Florene Mosley.
Left to miss him daily are his daughter, Kenetta Lisenbee and husband Tim of Midwest City, Oklahoma; son, Kendall Satterwhite of Golden, Missouri; grandchildren, Todd Lisenbee and Kelly of Edmond, Oklahoma, Megan Lisenbee of Spencer, Oklahoma, Amanda Satterwhite of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Collin Satterwhite of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Jaspen Carr and girlfriend Abby Densow, Jason Baldwin, and Ben Walker; sisters-in-law, Sue and husband Travis Amundson of Jackson, Michigan, and Deane Mosley of Guthrie, Oklahoma; as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Suben Naidu for his humor, love, and respect in caring for our dad. As well as Mercy Home Health, especially our sweet friends, Tammi and Cindy, and Mercy Hospice. Our nurse Sonja was a godsend and such a comforting friend through both our dad and mom's journey home. Also, to all the family and friends for their visits, phone calls, texts, and especially prayers during this long journey. We truly love all of you!
