Winona Armstrong

Winona “Pumpkin” Armstrong of Spencer, Oklahoma, passed away on September 3, 2024, in Midwest City, Oklahoma. She was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on May 22, 1967, to parents Isaac Burris and Mary Laverne Burris (Procter). Pumpkin finished the 9th grade and went on to marry the love of her life, James Armstrong Sr., on June 18, 1986, where they spent 38 years together.

Pumpkin loved listening to a variety of music, such as R&B, Christian, and gospel. Many know that her favorite colors are turquoise, blue, and purple.

A perfect day for her consists of sitting outside and enjoying the weather. Something that could always make her laugh was being goofy with her family and pets. Pumpkin taught others to be kind, generous, and loving. Most people would remember her as being the best mom she could be, taking care of the home, and being faithful to God. Pumpkin loved her family, pets, and God. She grew up worshipping at Central Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

She is survived by her husband James Armstrong Sr.; children; Shawn Armstrong (Caroline Pérez) of Spencer, Oklahoma; Nicole Armstrong (Jarrell Gomez) of Sweetwater, Texas; James Armstrong Jr. of Spencer, Oklahoma; siblings Haskell Burris of Choctaw-Nicoma Park, Oklahoma; Harold Burris of Choctaw-Nicoma Park, Oklahoma; grandson Aaron Gomez; 11 nieces; 7 nephews; and fur babies Loki, Sissy, Beethoven, and Harley.

Pumpkin is preceded in death by her parents Isaac and Mary Burris and her sister Sandra Burris.

A visitation for Winona will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A funeral will occur Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 2:00 PM, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A burial will occur Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at Arlington Memory Gardens, 3400 N Midwest Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73141.
