

Betty Jean Oxley, 88, of Olathe, Kansas passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, September 10, 2014. She will forever be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, geat grandmother, aunt and friend to everyone she met.
Betty was born on October 31, 1925 in Kahoka, Missouri to Armin and Nellie May (Stewart) McNally. She attended and graduated from Kahoka High School. She worked as a manager for Colgate Palmolive Employees Credit Union where she dedicated herself for 26 years before retiring. She married the love of her life William (Bill) Oxley on January 11, 1964.
Together they lived in Overland Park, Kansas then Branson, Missouri and Arizona for 20 years. Betty and Bill enjoyed square dancing, traveling, boating, camping and spending time with family and friends. Betty also enjoyed spending her time making afghans, participating in the Comedy Club in Arizona, playing Wii bowling, billiards and playing bingo. She played with the same bingo card every time thinking it brought her luck.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents Armin and Nellie McNally, three sisters and her husband of 45 years Bill Oxley who died August 12, 2009.
Survivors include her three daughters; Katherine Tyler and her husband Warren of Oak Grove, Missouri, Cheryl Parks and her husband Frank of Overland Park, Kansas and Pamela Hecht and her husband Mark of Burlingame, Kansas. Left behind to cherish her memory are her her 8 grandchildren, Tonya Thosen, Debra Miller, Shannon Tyler, Stephen Parks, Shannon Cromwell, Megan Summers (Jon), Wendy McCormack (Nathan) and Jared Hecht. Betty will be sadly missed by her 13 great grandchildren, Donnie Thosen, Lewis Tidwell, Cheyenne Thosen, Justin McDaniel, Katie Miller, Lily Tyler, Kylie Masters, Kenna Masters, Logan Summers, Harrison Summers, Darian Summers, Dawson Summers and Connor Mundy.
Betty will be cremated according to her wishes. A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 15, 2014 at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home 105 E. Loula Street Olathe, Kansas. Visitation will be 12-1:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home prior to the service. Inurnment in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens will take place at a later date.
