He was born in Clinton, Missouri, on August 15, 1948. He made a career in construction, excavation, and hauling. He retired a Teamster.
He will be fondly remembered by those he leaves behind. His wife Jane, sister Jean, brothers Jim (Liz), Larry, and Roy (Martha), daughter Tammy (John) of Jefferson City, MO, sons Zachary (Jennie) of St. Louis, MO, Alex (Michael) of Overland Park, KS and Jason of Minneapolis, MN, grandchildren Eleanor ‘Ella’, Lily, and Damon, plus many nieces and nephews.
He leaves pups Sarge, Charger, Boots, and Smoke at home to watch over Jane. They’ll miss the slow quiet days napping on his lap, interrupted by the occasional scratch behind the ear.
Dean will be best remembered for his generous uninhibited desire to help his friends and family. He would travel thousands of miles to lend a hand at a moment’s notice. If you knew Dean, you knew you were a friend, and if you needed him you would find that you were family too.
He and Jane enjoyed spending time with family, traipsing about in search of good meals off the beaten path, and in pulling their camper to NASCAR races, beaches, and parks. Dean loved cars, and owned more than a few. If you asked about his recently acquired ‘66 High Country Special Mustang”, the pride in his voice would be undeniable as he told of the car’s pedigree and scarcity - one of only 333.
