I only met Donnie once when I first started martial arts as a white belt. I was learning from Sarah Oliver at the KCAI dojo and I took part in a special training at the main Kansas City dojo in 2000. We had to hold a horse stance for an hour and I was really dreading it beforehand. Donnie lead that practice and before we started holding the stance he said to the class forcefully, "You know the water is cold! Face it! Jump in!" And then we started. Huge lesson in my life about facing fears head on strongly. I never forgot the lesson and I'm now a black belt with students of my own.

I so very sorry for your loss. I am so sadden at the untimely passing away of my very good friend. I worked with Donnie at Delco for many years. He was such a very good man. So very positive, a caring heart with much wisdom. "Adios y nos Vemos" my friend.

I met Donnie when I worked at the Delco plant during college. I haven't seen him for something like 20 years but he was a kind person and I never forgot him. My father, who had a deep respect for Donnie, told me about his passing. I wanted to reach out to those who cared about him to say that I'm no one to you, but Donnie was someone to me. I'm sorry for this incredible loss.

I met Donnie in 1988, through David Lightner, when I was invited to practice karate with the Kansas City Group. Through countless practices, sweat, pain and suffering, Donnie (and the other KC Shotokan seniors) would push me, test me, and always challenge my own limits, and beyond. 
It became more than just a practice of Karate, that was just the beginning of a deep friendship. Through shared friends and experiences, love and care, Donnie was always a brother to me (including the other KC seniors). He made me laugh, and keep me on track with life. My attempt here to sum him up will not be possible. He was the best example of what we all should strive for. He coined the term for my son Ryan, Ry Fry, and many other things. I am blessed to say he made me a better person. Thank you Donnie, the one and only.

So sorry For your loss. I've known Donnie since 1978. He's been like a brother to me and an uncle to my 2 boys who always referred to him as uncle Donnie. We met Donnie through my brother  Joe Bliley. He made us laugh and kept in touch with us even after Joe passed away. We all thought the world of Donnie, and we will miss him very very much

Your presence was always joyful!  You always wore a smile and provided lots of laughs. I remember calling and leaving the message on your answering machine " Uncle Donnie, will you pretty pretty please come to my birthday party?" What I will never forget is you teasing me, mimicking me, at every opportunity you'd see me years later, and us busting up with laughter about it:)

You became my "Brother" the first time that I met you.  As a brother you always had to tease and laugh both with me and at me.  Your nickname for me was always "Scotty" because of how funny you thought I talked. The kids only knew you as "Uncle Donnie". Music was always you, singing, or burning another CD to share with me. I remember all of your Birthdays when you would come over and I would make you a big pot of homemade soup.  Friends and family would gather around the big table eating, laughing, and sharing together. Special memories!  Muffy

Remembering the first time you came to Minnesota..in the cold of winter.  You went out "Ice Fishing" on the lake and caught all those fish! Sorry to hear this. He was a good guy. Knew he and his brother since mid-sixties. Went through junior high and high school with both he and his brother.

I was fortunate to sing with Donnie in the Olathe High School Chorale in 1970-71.  Donnie is one of the most talented vocalists I have ever met. His voice was clear and pure.  He sang with his heart and touched the hearts of those blessed to hear him.  He was kind to a fault, got along with everyone, and was truly one of the best people I knew.  So Donnie, please find Debbie Tibbetts and Michelle Boyer and George Weldon and let me hear you all make beautiful music again!!  RIP Donnie!!

I am sorry to hear of Donnie's passing.  He was a good friend through high school. I regret that we didn't stay in touch better after that, but I have nothing but good memories of him.  Donnie remains one of the nicest, kindest and funniest people I have ever known.  To Ronnie and all the family, my sympathies are with you.

Where do I begin? The CDs you always made me, the stories of your black belt in martial arts, the money I received for good grades or the high fives that resulted in you saying "Boof" as our hands collided? There are too many to remember but that is the beauty of it, with you there is no such thing as too many memories. Thank you for everything, I will and do miss you!

I worked side by side and with Donnie for several yrs at battery plant and considered him my friend. Always looked forward to the newest joke he had heard..i remember  when i was learning the job of strapping up batteries on the charge tables he never gave up on me and was always there with a kind word or a helping hand to get myself out of a mess until i learned lol.. My heartfelt sorrow goes out to the family that i know will Miss Donnie so very much! So to Sharon and the rest of his family may the presence of the Lord Jesus  be with you in these coming days and weeks and know that Donnie will be waiting for you in open arms and that big smile when you  go to meet in Heaven!!

Donnie, THANK YOU for all the great music CDs you sent to your Brother, Phillip (aka Leonard), that I also enjoyed.  I THANK YOU even more, from my heart, for the Spain trip that Leonard got to experience with you!  To this date, he still talks & tells others about the GREAT time he had with you while in Spain/Ibiza (especially, the Night Clubbing).  Donnie was greatly loved, respected and admired. Donnie will be missed but never forgotten!  I will always remember that one time you came out to party with me & Luther at Mr. Pibbs!  That quiet & shy young man had me laughing all night!  Rest in heaven my brother!

Donnie Duncan was the best brother anyone could have, always had a kind spirit and a very thoughtful person and do not forget the latest music he always made I will truly miss him .

Donnie was a great brother-in-law. He was sweet, kind and generous.  He always had a big smile on his face. I will miss his Sunday visits; fondly remembering his many jokes and his movie reviews. I love you, Donnie. 

Donnie was one of the most giving people you could ever know. When he wasn't making you laugh he was giving you something or both. This is but a small feature of his qualities but stood out tremendously.
