Just found out about my dear friend Dot’s passing.  I loved her dearly.  I’m so sorry for her family’s loss. May she Rest In Peace.  Forever in my heart Dot!  Nancy 

My Aunt Dot saved my life. Gene and Dot came to visit in Chapman, Kansas. It was Valentine's day. She talked my mom into taking me to Geary County Hospital. I was one of 7 people in our area that got Hepatitis. The doctor said one more day and I wouldn't have made it.  She came to stay with me in Kansas City for a few days after my Uncle Gene passed. She always took me to Catholic Church when I was with her. I LOVED HER DEARLY

I, too, remember Dot's letters.  She wrote on both sides of the paper and sometimes in the margins.  They were so newsy.
She used to call me "kid" or "Bet."  Sometimes she would call Gene "Genie."
I really enjoyed visiting both of them in Florida after my Terry died.   We went to the beach, attended the shows at the park where they lived, and they took me to see the manatees.  
I will really miss her and am sorry that I was not able to visit her in her last years.

I have many loving memories of Dot.  She was joyful and so much fun to around.  She wrote the best letters.  If a letter arrived at Uncle Wesley's it was read by all who visited.  I remember a family picnic at the Goodyear plant where an "adoption" took place.  Gene just kept looking at us knowing it was a losing battle and that Dorothy loved the pup already.  The world has lost a sweet caring woman.
