Drei Charice McIntosh, 57, of Olathe, Kansas unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at the Olathe Medical Center. She will forever be remembered as a sweet and loving daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend to everyone she knew.
Drei was born on December 12, 1964 in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Jerry Richard and Melody Rose (Brady) McIntosh. She attended University High Laboratory School in Greeley, Colorado. She was a member of Deaf International Community Church in Olathe, Kansas. She was actively involved with the DeafBlind Social Group of Kansas City and regularly attended OLINGO at the Olathe Club of the Deaf in Olathe, Kansas.
Drei enjoyed chatting daily with her many friends on video, keeping up with the activities of her three nieces, attending Zumba classes at the YMCA in Olathe along with her mom and passionately cheering on the Denver Broncos. She also enjoyed traveling, dancing, crafts, word search puzzles, coloring books, watching TLC T.V., Hallmark movies and anything involving kitties. Drei loved to laugh and play. All who knew her are sure to describe her as sweet, silly, strong, and brave. She will be dearly missed.
Drei is preceded in death by her father, Jerry Richard McIntosh who passed away on May 8, 2021. She is survived by her mother Melody R. McIntosh and her sister, Stacey McIntosh Storme (Swanhilda Lily) of Overland Park, Kansas. Left behind to cherish her memory are her three nieces, Jaia Storme, Aubrei Storme and Khiren Storme.
As a DeafBlind person Drei often experienced issues of access. The Kansas Association of the Deaf (KAD) has established a memorial fund in Drei’s memory to support our beloved DeafBlind Kansans. Drei will be cremated according to her wishes. A “Celebration of Life” honoring Drei will take place at the Olathe Club of the Deaf, 221 South Chestnut St., Olathe, Kansas on Saturday, January 14, 2022 at 1pm.
