Florence M. Johnson

Florence M. Johnson, 97, of Olathe, Kansas passed away at home on Thursday, December 28, 2017. She will forever be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to everyone she met. Florence was born on January 16, 1920 in Bucyrus, Kansas to Joseph and Margaret (Seck) Seuferling. She attended and graduated from Bucyrus High School. She married Leo Caray in April of 1942. Through this union together they raised their two children, Thomas and Deborah.

Florence worked for the Olathe Daily News from 1971-1985, She also worked in the Olathe Medical Center from 1988-2002. She later retired and volunteered her time working various jobs throughout the Medical Center. Florence was a member of the Hospital Charitable Foundation, and the Ambassadors. Florence was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Olathe, Kansas since 1947. Florence enjoyed playing cards, working puzzles and especially playing Bunco with her friends. Spending time with her family and with her grandchildren gave her the most memorable moments in her life.

Florence is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and father of her children Leo Caray, her loving son, Thomas Caray, brother, William Seuferling and her second husband, Dale Johnson. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Debby) Ford and her husband Warren of Olathe, Kansas and brother, Joseph Seuferling and his wife Velma of Cameron Missouri. Left behind to cherish her memory are her four grandchildren, Christopher Ford, Kyle Caray, Cary Ford and Casey Caray, She will be sadly missed by her three great grandchildren, Kayla and Rylee Ford and Caden Caray.

Florence will be cremated according to her wishes. A Memorial Mass is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 6, 2018 at St. Paul Catholic Church 900 S. Honeysuckle Drive Olathe, Kansas. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date at the Holy Rosary Cemetery in Bucyrus, Kansas. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: Johnson County Meals on Wheels.
