Frederick Junior May

Frederick Junior May, 87, of Olathe, Kansas passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2015. He will forever be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandpa, uncle and friend to everyone he met. Fred was born on July 20, 1927 in Topeka, Kansas to Fred Lincoln and Daisy (Mitchell) May. He lived in the city of Olathe all of his life. Fred was the last surviving member of his family of five. Fred was a dedicated member of the Shawnee Reformed Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon for many years. He worked for Century Wood Products many years and later he worked for the Olathe School District. Fred and Patty celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on February 11 of this year. He will be sadly missed.

Fred is preceded in death by his parents Fred May and Daisy Welch. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia (Patty) May of the home. Three sons: Douglas May of Osawatomie, Kansas, Gregory May and his wife Debbie of Olathe, Kansas and Jeffery May and his wife Tammy of Olathe, Kansas.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his nine grandchildren: Cassie Cawby and her husband David, Lindsey Seacrest and her husband Chad, Tiffany Cawby and her husband Justin, Patty Jane May, Greg F. May, Maggie Noel and her husband Rob, Harrison A. May, Nathan May and Megan May. Fred is also survived by his 20 great grandchildren: Jaidyn, Alex, Mason, Karsyn, Madison, Khloe, Alexis, Sophie, Serenity, Madeline, Kennedy, Devon, Payton, Destiny, ReAunna, David, Alyssa, Brooklyn, Chasity and Chad.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home 105 East Loula Street Olathe, Kansas. Interment in Johnson County Memorial Gardens Overland Park, Kansas. Visitation will be 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday, February 23, 2015 at the funeral home.
