An only child, she was born April 28, 1922 in Marysville Township, Miami County, Kansas to Leonard Earl Tisdale and Grace Dora Tisdale. She attended grade school in Ocheltree, KS and graduated High School from Spring Hill High School, Spring Hill, KS. On May 11, 1943, she married Rex Kay Beets who preceded her in death on March 11, 1986.
Hazel and Rex had 3 children; Kay Marie Buie of Shawnee, KS, James L. Beets of Olathe, KS, and John L. Beets of Roeland Park, KS, 6 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Hazel worked in various capacities for the Miami County Treasurer's office, Owen's Illinois, and the Paola Unified School District. After retirement, she worked part-time as a care giver for the elderly. She had a special passion for Genealogy and spent many hours researching family histories.
There will be a memorial service at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 5 at the First Christian Church, 200 East Loula, Olathe, Kansas. A reception will follow the service. Burial will be in Hillsdale Cemetery. Memorials to the First Christian Church in Olathe are requested in lieu of flowers.
