

.Henry Lynn Plowman, known as "Lynn", passed away on November 20, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on April 15th, 1947, in Jefferson County Hospital Fairfield, Iowa. He was the son of Henry Fredrick Plowman and Ruth Alegra {Neal} Plowman. Lynn was a long-time resident of Olathe, Kansas.
Lynn graduated with the class of 1966 from Van Buren Community High School in Keosauqua, Iowa. He came to KC to attend a mechanics trade school. He led a distinguished.career as an over-the-road truck driver for Yellow Freight. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Union Local 41 in Kansas City. "Yankee Dime" had been most everywhere. Upon his retirement from Yellow Freight, he was honored with a watch and numerous safety awards. He was particularly proud of having driven over two million miles without an accident. He also drove for Victorian Marble and Cook Paint.
Lynn met and married Barbara J. Campen. Together they raised their two sons, Brian and Kevin. Lynn was known for his ability to fix anything and cherished his collection of pennies. He knew so much about pennies!
Lynn was a hard-working, honest and kindhearted husband and father. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ruth Plowman and his five siblings: David, Marie, Dorothy, Fred and Joan. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, of the home, his two sons Brian Plowman and his wife Hollie of Spring Hill, Kansas and Kevin Plowman and his wife Terri of Gardner, Kansas.
Lynn is survived by one sister, Pat Hill and her husband David of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. He leaves behind ten grandchildren: Luke Nowaczyk Rose}, Allyson Lewis {Nick}, Luke Plowman, Kylie Plowman, Zachary Plowman, Suzy Plowman, Levi Plowman, Katelyn Plowman, Brianna Plowman, and Kinsley Plowman.
A visitation will be held at McGilley & Frye Funeral Home located at 105 E. Loula Street, Olathe, Ks. on Monday, November 24,2025, from 6 pm to 8 pm.
Burial will be scheduled,at a later date, in Douds, Iowa.
