James Roy Andrew, 62, of Lenexa, Kansas formally of Kansas City, Kansas and Olathe, Kansas. He passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021. He will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to everyone he knew.
“Jim” as he was known by his family and friends was born on July 15, 1959 in Kansas City, Kansas to William McKinney and Doris Jean (Raines) Andrew. He attended Highland Crest Junior High and Olathe North High School. He met the love of his life Lisa Marie Marrone on February 14th, 1981. They were married on May 12th, 1984. Together, they raised their two children Cole and Gina Andrew.
Jim was a talented carpenter and a proud member of the Kansas City Carpenters Union Local 714 until his retirement. He was an avid sports fan and loved his KC Chiefs, KU Basketball, KC Royals and Nascar. Jim was known to “Live Life to the Limits”, and then some. He will be sadly missed.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers Jack Andrew and Dan Andrew. He is survived by his wife Lisa Andrew and his two children Cole Andrew and Gina Andrew who were the loves of his life. Jim is also survived by his two brothers Terry Andrew and his wife Marilyn and Joe Andrew and his wife Dana, sister Cheryl Andrew –Allen and her husband Mike, In-laws Teresa Andrew and Kim Andrew and Lucille and Gary Martin. Left behind to cherish his memory are several nieces and nephews.
Jim will be cremated according to his wishes. A “Celebration of Life” honoring the life of Jim will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home 105 East Loula Street Olathe, Kansas. At the request of the family face masks are strongly suggested and preferred.
