He was born in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, on July 8, 1559, son of Santiago Ojeda and Alfonsa Torres. Javier attended school in his hometown of San Luis Potosí and then went on to work for the National Water Commission where he retired at 47 years of age with 30 years of service. While he was working at that company he met his wife Rosa while working on the construction of a water dam for the town of Monte Escobedo Zacatecas. The same town where he married his wife in October 1983. He enjoyed the nature of this small town so much, spending time with his family and enjoying the delicious food of the town.
He loved family, food and music, especially Rigo Tovar. He will be remembered for his smile, sense of humor and always giving the peace sign.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Rosa Sánchez; his daughter Mariela and his son Javier.
A funeral mass will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at McGilley and Frye Funeral Home 105 E. Loula St., Olathe, KS. A celebration of life will immediately follow from 2 to 4 p.m.
