Jerry is a man of faith and has a passion for sharing his heart with others. He has a laugh that will fill up any room with the joy that embodied him. He spent many years serving those in need of hearing God’s word which he cherished so much. His most rewarding contributions were to minister to those who deserved a second chance. Believing in second chances led him to minister and council through his jail ministry initiative. To Jerry, everyone deserved to learn about the love and precious gift of our Lord and Savior who believed in second chances. Like his father, Jerry shared the words and wisdom with anyone who would listen. And he did so with love and compassion for others.
Jerry also had a passion for music and as some say would bring any piano to life through his sacred gift and talents. it is no surprise that the combination of his passion for serving those in need through his ministry coupled with his musical talents made a huge impact on the lives of many who were blessed to cross paths with him.
In addition to his parents Joseph and Mildred, he is preceded in death by his sister Debbie Johnston (Strobbe), brother-in-law Cager Collins, and niece Rebekah Labolle (Collins).
Jerry is survived by his former wife of 12 years, Christine Strobbe (Hatton), his children Jeffrey, Gregory, and Geri Lynn Maples (Strobbe) (Husband, Robert) - Ohio, his sisters Diane (Horst) Lunk (Wisconsin), and Janise Collins (Arizona). As well as two grandchildren Shane and Emily Maples and several nieces and nephews. And by all those who loved him dearly.
