Jerry Richard McIntosh, 78, of Olathe, Kansas passed away at Olathe Medical Center on Saturday, May 8, 2021. He will forever be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, papa, brother and friend to everyone he knew. Most who knew him are sure to have a story or two to share involving his sense of humor, mischief, generosity and orneriness.
“J-Mac” as he was known by his family and friends was born on March 26, 1943 in Trenton, Tennessee to Algie Richard and Ruth May (Hickman) McIntosh. He attended Peabody High School in Trenton, Tennessee. He married the love of his life Melody Rose Brady on August 3, 1964 in Fort Collins, Colorado. Together they raised their two daughters Drei and Stacey along with many fur-babies.
Jerry had a passion for cars and racing. His passion for racing started at an early age when he converted his sister’s doll buggy into a racing cart pulled by goats. He spent much of his time building show cars, race cars and high performance car engines while owning his own businesses called “Jerry’s Garage'' in Greeley, Colorado and “J-Mac Racing” in Montevallo, Alabama.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents Algie and Ruth McIntosh. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Melody Rose (Brady) McIntosh of the home, two daughters Drei Charice McIntosh of Olathe, Kansas and Stacey Alayne McIntosh Storme of Overland Park, Kansas. Left behind to cherish his memory are his three granddaughters Jaia Storme, Aubrei Storme and Khiren Storme. Jerry is also survived by his sister Joyce Gibson of Trenton, Tennessee. He will be sadly missed.
Jerry will be cremated according to his wishes. His family will gather in a private service to celebrate and honor his life. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to either Kansas School for the Deaf Outreach Services or your local animal shelter.
