

A graduate of Olathe High Schoool, and veteran of the Navy Reserves, Joe was preceded in death by Betty M. Groszek, his wife of 48 years. Joe is survived by his children Joe and Donna Groszek; Mark and Pam Grozek; and Lisa and Luke Demaree; by his grandchildren, Mitch and Amber Groszek; Trisha, Ashley, Tim, Sara, Zoe and Eli Demaree; by his great-grandchildren Braeden and Anaiyah Demaree; and by his brothers Jim Groszek, Frank Groszek and Robert Groszek.
Joe worked at the former Delco plant in Olathe for 43 years, and remained a union member, in good standing, with the UAW. Joe enjoyed fishing, watching college basketball with his children and grandchildren, early morning breakfasts with his fellow retirees, and feeding his local family of squirels. Joe will be sorely missed by his family, his friends, and the local wildlife. Services for Joe Groszek will be held at McGilley & Frye Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m. Saturday January 7, 2012, followed by burial in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. -12: 00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
