Karen Lee Frazier, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2024, at the age of 66. Born on August 17, 1958, she grew up in Osawatomie, Kansas. Karen lived a life full of love, adventure, and joy that left a lasting imprint on all who knew her.
Karen's passion for horses began in her youth and grew as she got older. She spent many cherished moments riding and showing horses, her deep connection with them a constant throughout her life. Alongside her love for horses, Karen adored her dogs, who were always treated like royalty in her home, showered with affection and care.
An adventurous spirit, Karen's zest for life took her on many exciting journeys. One of her proudest accomplishments was hiking a portion of the Appalachian Trail, where she reveled in nature and her love for the outdoors. The last 8 years of her life, Karen was lucky enough to share many of these adventures with “the love of her life,” as she would often say. She and Danny Hoskins, a high school friend, were reunited 40 years later in life and found great love and companionship.
Known for her quick wit, silliness, and infectious sense of humor, Karen brought laughter and light to every gathering. She was also an athlete at heart, a former high school cheerleader and passionate softball player in her early adult years. Her enthusiasm for sports never waned, as she became the biggest cheerleader for her family—always there to support her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews in all their athletic endeavors.
Karen's bond with her family was unbreakable, especially her siblings. She treasured her time with her sisters and brothers, whether on sibling trips or dancing joyfully at family weddings to their anthem, "We Are Family."
Her spirited nature, infectious laughter, and boundless love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
Karen’s legacy of love, laughter, and adventure will continue to shine through her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Brandon Holloman and Kaleigh Day; her grandchildren, Ivy and Knox Holloman; her siblings, David Frazier, Suzanne Jubratic, Brett Frazier, and Stephanie Williamson; and her loving partner, Dan Hoskins.
A celebration of life will be held on September 28, 2024, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the City Center (545 Main St.) in Osawatomie, KS 66064.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Karen’s memory to This Old Horse, an organization dedicated to providing lifelong sanctuary to retired, rescued, and recovering horses. Donations can be made at https://www.thisoldhorse.org/donate
