She was born July 15, 1909 in Sioux City, Iowa to Dennis and Margaret (Murray) Noonan. She grew up near Volin, SD and lived most of her life in nearby Yankton.
Kathleen was a woman of valor. Her accomplishment, raising her young son as a widow, speaks her praise.
My mother said I could always choose my responses to life’s unfairness. She challenged me to live a life with meaning by caring for others, being kind and generous, responsible and loyal, and maintaining courage during hard times. Her rules were simple: Commit the golden rule to memory and to life. She was an exemplary role model.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Neville; sister, Veronica Tompkins; daughter-in-law, Michelle Neville; and grandson, Christopher Neville.
She is survived by her son, Denis Neville, and grandson, Stephen Neville, of Olathe.
It was Kathleen’s wish that on her death she be cremated without funeral or services, flowers, or fuss.
Memorial donations can be made to Good Samaritan Society – Communities of Olathe.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal.
Love leaves a memory no one can steal.
You can only have one mother.
Patient, kind, and true;
No other friend in all the world,
Will be the same to you.
When other friends forsake you,
To mother you will return,
For all her loving kindness,
She asks nothing in return.
As we look upon her picture,
Sweet memories we recall,
Of a face so full of sunshine,
And a smile for one and all.
