

Laura Luella Ripley, 80, of Olathe, KS passed away March 19, 2015. Laura will be cremated according to her wishes. Private family services at a later date with burial in Silver Lake Cemetery. She will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Deaf Cultural Center, 455 E. Park Street, Olathe, KS 66061.
Born in Richland, KS on March 24, 1934, Laura was the daughter of Ralph and Grace Maddox. She married Walter Ripley, Sr. on March 25, 1956. She worked as an assembler for King Radio, but her proudest true accomplishment has to be her family. She loved to surround herself with her wonderful family. Laura was a loving, sweet, kind and caring woman and will be missed very dearly.
Laura was an avid member of the First Baptist Church of Olathe, Olathe Club of the Deaf, Kansas School of the Deaf and the Deaf Cultural Center where she even made time to volunteer. She loved reading, social media & interactive games.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, parents, and siblings, Nellie, Edwin, Helen, Lester, Virgil and Gladys.
She is survived by her loving children, Grace (Henry) Steingieser of New Market, MD, Walter (Rebecca) Ripley, Jr. of Talledega, AL, Sally (Darryl) Luton of Olathe, KS, brothers, Ray (Nancy) Maddox and Richard (Jeri) Maddox, sister, Mae Bradshaw, 8 grandchildren, Rachel, Shaina, Jesse, James Steingieser , Amelia & Jarvis Ripley, Brittany & Julianna Luton, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
