Linda Rae Carterman Sparks

.Linda Rae Carterman – Sparks, 72, of Gardner, Kansas passed away May 14, 2014, after a long illness. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home 105 E. Loula St. Olathe, Kansas. Visitation will be 5-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Linda will be cremated according to her wishes. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the: Antioch Baptist Church 22668 S. Waverly Rd. Spring Hill, Kansas 66083.

She will be sadly missed by her family, her friends and her community. She was most proud of her son, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her extended family of step children, grandchildren and great grandchildren through marriage. She lived a strong and proud life, loving the Lord, traveling, music, rodeos and having found love again in her later years.

During the course of her life Linda worked many jobs but she loved being a homemaker for the last 24 years. She loved sitting on her porch drinking her coffee and watching the world go by.

Linda is preceded in death by her mother Cleta Brooks, Father Ray Schaffer, brother Loyd Schaffer and great grandsons Josh Aclure and Nicholes Hazlett.

Survivors include her loving husband, Clifford Sparks Sr., her son Kevin (Debbie) Gentry, step daughters, Donna (Gary) Schely, Cheryl (Chuck) Welch, Debbie (Dave) Lusby, Linda (Lester) Smith and step sons Clifford (Theresa) Sparks Jr., David (Darlene) Sparks and Gary Sparks. Linda also had 23 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, brother Steve Schaffer and his wife C. J. and 1 sister Debbie Rollins.
