Marsha Ann Hull, age 69, of Olathe, Kansas (previously of Fairborn, Ohio), passed away on January 2, 2021 and now sits at the feet of her Lord and Savior. She had been residing at Azria Health Olathe since February 2020 due to Alzheimer’s Disease. Born in 1951 in Los Angeles, California to Marshal Jay Morisset and Jacqueline Irene Rashall, Marsha was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose gentle presence and adorable giggle is already missed.
Long Beach, California was home for the first six years of her life which were spent with her cherished Grandmother Rose Ruth King. Her family then moved to Olathe, Kansas where she attended grade school at Ridgeview Elementary which was where she met her lifelong friend, Dixie Richardson. In 1969, Marsha graduated from Olathe High School and began attending college at Emporia State Teachers College in Emporia, Kansas where she studied French and Russian. It was here that she met her future husband, Kenneth Hull.
Ken and Marsha married on August 7th, 1971 at Wellsville United Methodist Church in Wellsville, Kansas. The couple traveled the globe to places like Turkey, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Illinois, and Ohio as Ken served in the United States Air Force. The couple had two daughters, Heather (1974), and Whitney (1985). They lived in the Dayton, Ohio area until moving home to Kansas in 2016.
Marsha worked hard at many jobs and was a joyful servant to all she met. Some of her favorite places to work were The Cinderella Shop, Boatmen's Bank, Mini University, M&R Hallmark, G. Thanks, and the Greene County Department of Job and Family Services. She served as a children’s Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church of Fairborn, Ohio for over 30 years as well as serving on the Board of Directors of Giving Thanks Ministries. She made many friends through church, and Beta Sigma Phi. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and counted cross stitch.
Marsha was a great listener and loved to laugh. Some of her favorite things were The Wizard of Oz, irises, sunflowers, cardinals, her dog Sophie, and her famous Christmas toffee. She especially enjoyed interacting with children whose antics were immensely amusing to her. And she could often be heard saying, “There’s always room for dessert!”
Marsha is survived by her husband, Kenneth Hull; daughter Heather (Lanny) Greenbaum and their children Libby and Trey of Columbus, Ohio; daughter Whitney Hull (Nathan Ringquist) and their two daughters Zoe and Avery of Stowe, Vermont; and lifelong friends Dixie and Ron Gilliland of Olathe, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her Grandmother Rose Ruth (Tobias) King, her Mother Jacqueline Irene Hadsall, and her Father Marshal Jay Morisset.
A memorial service is pending due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions and is tentatively planned for August 7, 2021 – which would have been Marsha and Ken’s 50th wedding anniversary. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Giving Thanks Ministries, c/o Don and Norma McMurry 100 Emerald Lake Drive, Fayetteville, GA 30215 (http://www.givingthanksministries.com).
