

Mary Louise Crowell, 93, of Ottawa, Kansas passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, July 4, 2025. She will forever be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to everyone she knew.
Mary was born on July 12, 1931 in Pottsville, Arkansas to Charles Reed and Pauline Hester (Ferrell) Cotton. She attended and graduated from Paseo High School. She worked for many years as a Dietary Supervisor. Also, as a cook and waitress. She loved flowers and took great pride in working many hours in her flower garden. People who passed by would admire her garden that was always in bloom.
She loved her family immensely and enjoyed any outing that involved being around her children and grandchildren. She spent the last year of her life in Rock Creek Nursing facility in Ottawa, Kansas. She will be sadly missed.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Pauline Cotton, brother Charles R. Cotton Jr. two daughters Sandra L. Sallaz, Sharon K. Williams and son Jack N. Goin. Survivors include her daughter Barbara Sue Newcome and her husband Kenny of Wellsville, Kansas and her son Gordon Andrew Edmiston and his wife Caroline of Chugiak, Alaska. Left behind to cherish her memory are her 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren, sister Loretta Villanueva of Independence, Missouri along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mary will be cremated according to her wishes. A “Celebration of Life” honoring the life of Mary Louise Crowell will take place July 13,2025. 5pm and Gardner Senior Citizens Community Center, 128 E Park St., Gardner, KS 66030.
