

Michael Leon Fales, 75, of Olathe, KS passed away on October 12, 2017 at Olathe Hospice House with his loving family at his side. Visitation will be from 10-12:00 pm on Monday, October 16th at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home in Olathe, KS with funeral services starting at 12:00 pm. Burial to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Kansas City, KS. Michael was of the Catholic faith. Michael was born January 22, 1942 in Kansas City, MO to Paul and Marguerite Fales. He was a proud Teamster of Local 41; being employed at Schock Transfer for 30 years. Michael received his GED diploma at the age of 52. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Paul James Fales Jr.; sister, Catherine Reece and son-in-law, Gary Spicer. Michael is survived by his loving family; wife, Mary Ann (Kaiser) Fales, whom he was married to for 49 years; daughter, Kimberly Tabor (Kenneth); sons, Gerald Starkey (Cristina), Larry Starkey (Karla) and Michael Fales II (Tanya). Any man can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a dad. Sister, Linda Maskill (Gerald). Grandchildren: Morgan (Wes), Courtney (Josh), Kinley, Danielle (Bobby), Joseph (Eden), Henry (Macna) and Melissa (Juan); great-grandchildren: Audrey, Sidney, Drake, Madilynn, Robert, Abby, Mercades, Sophia, Emily, Henry Jr., Victor, Alexus, Avery, Alaina & Joshua. “Valued his family whether they were immediate or extended. They all owned a piece of his heart.” And nieces, nephews, and friends, too numerous to list, but not forgotten. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Olathe Hospice House, 15310 S. Marion St., Olathe, KS 66061. Flowers are for the living; give flowers to someone you love.
