Norma Rose Woodmansee Cota, 86, died February 8, 2014 in Olathe Kansas after a long illness. She is survived by her three children: Kathleen Frazier (Bennett) of Broken Arrow, OK, Gene Cota (Joy) of Kansas City, MO, and Irene Brown of Overland Park, KS, as well as three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Norma began swimming competitively in Oklahoma City at the age of six and accumulated many medals and trophies over the years. She was anticipated to be a prime Olympic contender in the 1944 games prior to cancellation due to WWII. Norma retired from Bendix/Allied Signal where she was a Cost Reduction
Supervisor.
She was an avid golfer, loved to participate in the Kansas City Corporate Challenge events and could be counted on to place high.
A wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved and lived life to the fullest, she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Private services are to be held in Tahlequah, OK. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Kansas City.
