

Robert Allen “Butch” Linder, 67, of Olathe, KS, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015. A Rosary will be prayed at 5:00pm, Monday, January 12, at McGilley & Frye Funeral Home, 105 E. Loula St, Olathe, where a Memorial Gathering will follow until 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Down Syndrome Guild or Autism Society of America.
Butch was born on April 14, 1947 in Kansas City, MO, to Harold F. and Lucy Belle (Jeffrey) Linder. Butch graduated from Rosedale High School in 1966. Later that year he entered the US Navy and proudly served his country in the Vietnam War. He married the love of his life, Diane Elizabeth Figge on March 15, 1969 and to this union were born three devoted children, Mark, Brian and Karen.
Butch was the Vice President of Tomahawk Labor for many years, retiring in 2001. Beyond the never ending stories of Vietnam was a man that enjoyed his computer and numerous tools of all kinds. He will be fondly remembered for his dedication to his family as he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great nephews. His ornery personality along with his caring love will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Linder was preceded in death by his parents and parents-in-law, Lee and Elinor Figge.
Butch is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Diane Linder, of the home; two sons, Mark Linder of Arvada, CO and Brian Linder of Olathe; one daughter, Karen Linder of Olathe; one brother, Harry (Jackie) Linder of Kansas City, MO; one sister, Linda (Bill) Horner of McKinney, TX. Also left to cherish his memory are two grandchildren, Logan and Ralyn; three nieces, Kristin, Kerry and Kim and five great nephews.
