Robert Louis Otte, 88, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri at St. Luke’s Hospital. Born on April 6, 1937, in York, Nebraska, Bob lived a long and meaningful life marked by dedication, service, and a deep love for his family.
Bob proudly served in the United States Army and married Darlene Christian on March 15, 1959. They raised 3 children together in Nebraska and Bob built a successful career in the automotive parts industry. They later moved to Lenexa, Kansas where he owned and operated Aftermarket Associates, specializing in aftermarket automotive parts sales across four states. He was known for his work ethic, his warm personality, and the countless relationships he formed throughout his career. Bob loved people and conversation and always had something to tease his family members about.
He was a member of the Church of the Resurrection and a joyful member of the Tallgrass Creek community, where he found friendship, purpose, and connection in his later years. Bob was also a loyal fan of Nebraska Cornhusker football, loved a good Runza meal, and found joy in driving his 1955 pink Ford convertible. He adored animals and had a soft heart for every family pet that came into his life.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene, his parents, John and Lorena, and his siblings Donald, Marvin, Leroy, Rolland, and Joyce.
He is survived by his loving sweetheart, Norma Altman; his children Debra (John) Jensen, Randall (Diane) Otte, and Steven (Shelly) Otte; his grandchildren Jessica Real, Cori (Savanah) Wilkening, Kailey (Sam) Anzalone, Richard & Amanda Otte, Camden & Jordan Otte, Cassidy & Ginger Drury; and his great-grandchildren Elijah & Grace Teal, Case Anzalone and Poppi Drury. He is also survived by Kimberly (Brad) Westrope, daughter of his sweetheart Norma, and their children Alex, Nicole, and Quinn, who became a special part of his life through their blended family. Bob cherished his family deeply and took great pride in the generations that followed him.
