

Sandy grew up in both Olathe, KS and Shawnee, KS. She attended Hocker Grove Middle School and graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in 1966. After high school she attended Allen County Community College where she earned an associate degree. She went on to have a successful career in banking and after 40 plus years in the industry she retired from Cornerstone Bank. She raised her family in Olathe, KS and later moved back to Shawnee, KS to help care for her parents.
Sandy was a very loving and proud mother and grandmother. She was also a proud member of the Cherokee Indian Tribe. She was an avid KU basketball fan, sharing the love of the sport with her family. It was widely known to her family and friends not to call when her Hawks were playing but texting was allowed. Additionally, she enjoyed reading, fishing, trivia games, watching Wheel of Fortune, playing poker with the family and she loved her video poker. She will be deeply missed by her family and many dear friends; the memories created with Sandy will forever be treasured.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Osceola “Jack” & Ruth (Gilliland) Daniel, and brother, Gary L. Daniel.
She is survived by her son Matt (Jayma) Dawson; daughter Katie Dawson and her fiancé Joe Manis; grandchildren Jack and Adyson Dawson; brother Rodney (Jan) Daniel; sister-in-law Marla Daniel, nephews Curt, Chuck, Eric and Todd Daniel and niece Andrea Carley; 11 great nephews and nieces; great-great nephew and niece.
