Born on December 9, 1931, in Shelby County, Missouri, Sophronia came to Olathe in 1956. She dedicated her life to her family and community, working as a homemaker and in food service. Sophronia was an active member of the Baptist Church and was involved with the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Eastern Star.
Maxine married Clifton Baldwin in Shelbina, Missouri. Her late husband, Clifton Ray Baldwin, preceded her in death, as did her parents, one sister, and her son.
Maxine is survived by her son Lee and his wife Kathy Baldwin of Olathe, Kansas, and her son Edward Baldwin and his wife Dorothy of Harrogate, Tennessee. She is also survived by her brother John David Watson of Paris, Missouri, and her sister Doris Jean Kennison Monroe City, Missouri.
Maxine will be remembered for her dedication to her family and community, her cooking and her beloved presence will be dearly missed.
