Steve was a wonderful person, he opened his door, his ear and his bible to me. He was a father figure to me. His wisdom and character are forever etched in my mind. Equally serious and playful, he had a passion for our redeemer and a love for laughter.
One of several fond memories I have of him, he invited me to go with him and his son (my best pal William) to a baseball game, it was the Royals and the Oakland A’s as I recall. He knew, like all great fathers do, the simple yet meaningful act of taking his boys to a Baseball game, and letting them ride home laying down in the back of the pickup truck with intense airflow, the stars whizzing through the sky.
Steve also thought it important that I should be Baptized and through his prayers and persistence lead me to have a heart for Jesus Christ and a love for my father in heaven.
He loved all those who crossed his path.
He opened his home and his refrigerator to me many, many times. He was a father, a friend, a teacher, and a saint to me. He loved me like one of his own, and I thank God for his influence on my life.
Rest peacefully in the Grace and Mercy of the lord my friend. I love you Steven Armstrong.

He always had a minute to offer up some advice and guidance, usually at great length, whether you wanted it or not, but you always knew it was because he loved you, and he just didn’t want to see you end up in a bad way.
Steve, thanks for taking me in and treating me like one of your own. Love you, buddy.

STEVE WAS THE LOVE OF MY LIFE, BEST FRIEND AND CONFIDANT FOR 44 YEARS. FROM THE MOMENT I MET HIM I FELL IN LOVE WITH HIS WILDNESS, PASSION FOR THE TRUTH, KINDNESS AND BOLDNESS. HE WOULD TELL YOU THE TRUTH EVEN IF IT UPSET YOU. HE ALWAYS ASKED FOR FORGIVENESS IF HE HURT YOU. NO ONE WAS A STRANGER TO HIM. HIS LAUGH WAS INFECTIOUS. HE LOVED THE LORD WITH HIS WHOLE BEING. HE LOVED TO SPEND TIME WITH HIS GRANDCHILDREN AND LOVED TO SEE THEM LAUGH, HE'D GET RIGHT IN THERE AND PLAY WITH THEM AS IF HE WAS A CHILD HIMSELF. HIS CHILDREN WERE HIS JOY AND HAPPINESS. I LOVE YOU SWEETHEART AND I SHALL MISS YOU EVERYDAY. I'M THANKFUL YOU'RE HOME NOW WITH OUR LORD. UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN, YOU'LL BE CLOSE IN MY HEART.

Well my heart is so broken today to hear of the passing of a lifelong friend. Steve, Patty and I went to school together and even though we lived states away I always considered them my best friends whom I love with all my heart! Patty and Steve were high school sweethearts, raised 4 beautiful children. They are loving beautiful friends I cherish and will miss Steve dearly. My prayers are with you all! It gives me peace to know he is with the Lord and walking the streets of gold where there is no more sorrow no more pain only the peace that surpasses all understanding through Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. Love and Prayers to Patty and all the family.
