William Robert Gordon Laming Sr.

Robert William Gordon Laming, 63, of Olathe, Kansas passed away surrounded by nurses and family at Olathe Hospice House. He will forever be remembered as a loving dad, grandpa, great grandpa, brother, and friend to many on November 11, 2022.

Robert was born on August 11, 1959 in Olathe, KS to Fred W Laming and Mildred Luella Cress. He attended First Assembly of God Church. Robert also attended Olathe High School. Robert was married to Wanda McClung on June 3, 1977, they remarried October 3, 2018. He was blessed with a daughter, Tayna Dawn on December 21, 1977 and a son, William Laming on April 7, 1983. Robert enjoyed his grandkids, riding motorcycles and fishing. He also enjoyed riding ATVs on the hills in Arkansas at his son’s house. His favorite foods were Go Chicken Go and Double Cheeseburgers. Quick Trip tea was his favorite thing to drink. He loved driving big rig trucks. His occupation was over the road Truck Driver for many trucking companies. His last occupation was driving dump trucks and hauling gravel for Tattum. He also worked in the garage for Good Year Tire Company. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Fred W. Laming; mother, Mildred Luella Cress; half-brother, Joseph McMahon.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda McClung; daughter, Tayna Coogan; son, William Laming; brother, Lawrence Laming; sisters: Linda Altis and Vickie Laming; 3 grandchildren: Brian Coogan, Brittney Taylor and Jasper Laming; 8 great grandchildren: Christopher Coogan; Easton Nguyen, Kameron Coogan, Callie Coogan, Zoe Taylor, Emereigh Taylor, Brilee Coogan, and Amias Taylor.
