Arlene Grace Sulley

Arlene G. Sulley, 75, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood, NJ. Born in Newark, Arlene had lived in Laurence Harbor for 36 years before moving to Old Bridge 35 years ago. She was a lunch aide for the Old Bridge Township Board of Education for many years. She was a member of Community Covenant Church in Laurence Harbor and active participant of their Vacation Bible School programs when her daughters were growing up. She also attended their Monday morning Bible Study Group. She then began an affiliation with the Matawan Presbyterian Church since mid-2012.

Arlene was predeceased by her parents, Carl W. Hood Sr. & Beatrice Belle Buckley; her brothers, Carl W. Hood Jr. and Kenneth Hood Sr. Arlene is survived by her four daugthers: Grace & Lora Sulley, of Old Bridge, Michele Teator, of South River, and Jacqueline Haines, of Old Bridge; her son in law, Joseph Haines; her 1st husband, Donald W. Kent, the father of her four daughters; 3 granddaughters: Courtney-Lee Grace Chin, of Marlboro, Sara Lynn Teator, of South River, and Jenna Haines, of Old Bridge; 2 grandsons: Dylan Michael Teator, of South River, and Joey Haines, of Old Bridge; 3 nieces: Cheryle "Binky" Eze, of Queens Creek, AZ, Jewellynn Hood, of Queens Creek, AZ, and Mariza Hood, of Naples, FL; 2 nephews: Kenneth Hood Jr., of Naples, FL, and Chidozie Eze, of Queens Creek, AZ; 2 great nephews: Isaac Eze, of Queens Creek, AZ, and Garrett Hood, of Naples, FL; her great niece, Makenzie Hood, of Naples, FL; her sister in law, Cheryle Hood, of Queens Creek, AZ; her sister/best friend of 55 years, Helen Scandaliato, of Yulee, FL; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, & friends throughout the United States that meant so much to her.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 9-10:30am at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 Rt. 9, Old Bridge, NJ. Interment will follow to Christ Church Cemetery, S. Pine Ave., South Amboy, NJ.
