Brendan Michael McCarthy

Brendan Michael McCarthy, 26, of Englishtown died Monday, December 2, 2013 in New Orleans, LA. Born in Staten Island, he moved to Englishtown 18 years ago with his family. He worked with Rex Lumber before working construction with union local #77 in Jamesburg. An avid weight lifter, Brendan enjoyed cooking for his family and friends.

Brendan is predeceased by his Aunt Debra. Surviving are his parents Michael and Rita McCarthy, brothers Kevin and Liam and sister Colleen; his paternal grandmother Doris Gillis of Staten Island; maternal aunts Michele Harrison of Freehold, Kathy Sterner of Brooklyn, Donna Forte of Stroudsburg, PA; paternal uncle George Gillis of Staten Island and paternal aunts Marie Bove of Staten Island, Patricia McCarthy of Staten Island and Sister Margaret Gillis of Virginia.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend funeral services 8:30 am Friday at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home 3377 Highway 9, Old Bridge followed by an 10:00 am Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Mercy, 58 Main St., Englishtown.
