

Francesco "Frank" Bonelli, 78, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Spinoso, Italy, Frank had lived in Brooklyn before moving to Old Bridge 11 years ago, while also taking vacations to their summer home in Middletown, NY. Frank was a construction worker for Brooklyn Union Gas for 30 years retiring in 1998. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Middletown, and St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge. While living in Brooklyn, Frank was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church; where he did a lot of work for the homeless. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, hunting, and cooking, especially making wine, sausage, & cheese. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, and was an advocate for St. Judes Children's Hospital. Francesco is survived by his loving wife, Rosa (Vetrano) Bonelli; his daughter, Angela Bonelli; his son and daughter in law, Frank & Lisa Bonelli; his grandchildren: Christopher, Isabella, & Lilianna; and his brothers: Pasquale, Mario, Giuseppe, & Sesto Bonelli. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9pm and on Monday, March 3, 2014 from 7-9pm at the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 Rt. 9, Old Bridge, NJ. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 10am at St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge, NJ. Entombment will follow to St. John's Cemetery, Queens, NY. In Lieu of Flowers, donations can be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital.
