George W. Callahan

George W. Callahan, 53, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. Born in Newark, George had lived in Sayreville before moving to Old Bridge Township 34 years ago. He worked for the United States Postal Service in Newark and Belleville for 33 years retiring last year. He loved his family, music, and was a big Van Morrison fan. George was predeceased by his parents, George & Pandora Callahan. He is survived by his wife, Sissie Callahan; his sons: Christopher, Rory, Ryan, Colin, & Conor; his grandson, Mason; his brother, Merlin Salinger; and his sister, Elayna Moran. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 1, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 Rt. 9, Old Bridge, NJ 08857. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 2 at 10 am at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 225 MacArthur Avenue, Sayreville, NJ 08872. Cremation will be at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
