George R. Gesslein

George R. Gesslein, 53, of Spotswood, passed away peacefully at his place of residence. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Old Bridge for most of his life before moving here in 2009. George was an avid fisherman and guitar player. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, the late George H. and Dolores Gesslein. George is survived by his wife of 31 years, Catherine nee Lupien Gesslein, their children, Melinda Gesslein – Letostak & her partner Theresa, both of Edison, and Steven Gesslein of Spotswood and three grandchildren, Joy Johnson, and twins Morgan & Travis Letostak. George also leaves two sisters and two brothers, Elayne Amato of Freehold, Gloria Von Gesslein of Middletown, Bruce Gesslein of Brick and Gregory Gesslein of Cranford. Friends may call on Saturday, from 9-10am with the Funeral Service beginning at 10am at the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 US Hwy 9 Old Bridge, NJ 08857. Committal will follow at the Fairview Cemetery, Rt 35, Middletown. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request considering donations to help defray expenses.
