Thomas Joseph McGrath

Thomas Joseph McGrath, 65, of Old Bridge, NJ., passed away peacefully Sunday, October 9, 2011 surrounded by family at Mt. Siniai Medical Center, New York, NY. He was an Executive of Operations at several brokerage firms in New York for more than 25 years, more recently with Wells Fargo in NYC retiring in 1983. Thomas was a communicant of St Thomas the Apostle RC Church, Old Bridge. He loved electronics and collected coins and fire trucks. He was a real people person, never saying “no” to anyone and he especially loved his family very much. Born in Queens, he resided in Staten Island for many years before moving to Old Bridge 22 years ago. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Joan nee Piumelli McGrath, and nieces & nephews, Christopher Warhol of Great Kills, NY., Shawn Ryan Jr., Jessica Ryan & Michelle Ryan all of Florida, Eric Cohen and Eddie Cohen, both of Staten Island and Elizabeth Ryan of Long Island. He is also survived by his brothers Shawn Ryan & Timothy Ryan, both of Fla., and William Ryan of Long Island; and two loving sisters in law, Barbara DeRosa and Mary Cohen, both of Staten Island. Friends may call on Tuesday & Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 US Hwy 9, Old Bridge, NJ 08857. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered on Thursday from St Thomas the Apostle RC Church, Kensington Lane, Old Bridge. Committal will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island.
