Walter E. Langdon

Walter E. Langdon, 96, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 18 at Bayshore Healthcare in Holmdel. Born and raised in Staten Island, he moved to Toms River, NJ in 1988, and then to Holmdel, NJ 2 1/2 years ago. He was a mechanic for United States Gypsum in Staten Island for over 25 years retiring in 1975. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War; and he was a member of the American Legion, and the VFW. Walter was predeceased by his 1st wife, Doris Langdon; his 2nd wife, Ann Langdon; his brothers, William, Charles, & Patrick; and his sister, Anna Louis. He is survived by his daugter and son in law, Barbara & Clyde Harnish; his daughter, Claire Geffre; his 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 20, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 Rt. 9, Old Bridge, NJ 08857, with a prayer service at 8pm. Cremation will be private.
