Annie Ruth Strickland, known by most as "Betty," was born in the Cumberland mountains in 1937. She was part of the greatest Generation. Enduring hard times in the mountains as a child of the depression. She came to Nashville in 1955 where she met Jimmy Strickland, and they married in 1960. They raised 3 children and contributed to the community, owning several businesses, including Speedy's Grill and Strickland Produce. She was known for her hospitality, her cooking, and a listening ear. Her love of family and God is her everlasting legacy. She touched many lives, but was generally quiet and reserved. Please join us as we celebrate and share the stories of her life. It would honor us to hear your favorite Betty story.
