Arlis H. Green

GREEN, Arlis H., SGM, U.S. Army, Ret., age 82 of Nashville, passed away Monday, October 25, 2010. Preceded by his parents, Noah and Eunice Green, wife, Katherine Girdley Green, daughter, Brenda Farmer, sisters, Zodel Bible and Lorene Hamby; son-in-law, Kenneth Burgett. Survived by his son, William (Rita) Green, daughter, Celila Burgett; son, Arlis Edward Green; grandchildren, Kenton (Noel) Farmer, Teresa (Lance) Wyss and Katherine (Matthew) Pierce; sisters, Emogene Bowman, Glenna (Paul) Matthews and Joyce (Ray) England; brothers, Allard (Sue) Green and Doyle (Sue) Green. Mr. Green was a longtime member of Whitsett Chapel Baptist Church. He was a retired Sergeant Major in the U.S. Army with 28 years of service and also was a retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service with 20 years of service. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 2010 in Hermitage Funeral Home Chapel. Interment with military honors will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Loved ones will serve as pallbearers. Visitation with the family 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday and 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Saturday.
