

As a teenager Billie worked at the office of Dr. Edward Rhea in Old Hickory Village. That experience led to her later becoming a laboratory technologist. She worked for well-known pediatrician, Dr. James Carney Overall, in downtown Nashville as his lab technologist and she also did allergy testing for him as well as several other Nashville physicians. She taught at laboratory technology schools in Nashville as well as Hohenwald, Tennessee.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Neville Baggett and Clara Bowker Baggett; her husband, Robert Kelly Roney, Jr.; two infant brothers, Jesse Scott Baggett and Merle Kendall Baggett; brother, Rhea Douglas Baggett; son, William Glenn Johnson, Jr.; and a great-grandson, Shawn Robert Chaffin.
Billie is survived by her daughter, Kendy Staggs (Dwight); step-son, Robert Kelly Roney, III (Jane); sister, Faye Woodall; sister-in-law, Judy Baggett; grandchildren Amy White (Andy), Gabrielle Staggs, and Zachary Staggs, Kelly Roney, Lisa Roney (Bruce Janz); and great-grandchildren Maggie Chaffin, J.P. Chaffin, Ryan Chaffin, Cam Chaffin, Hayley White, and Julia Denardo Roney. Billie also leaves behind many well-loved nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as many beloved friends.
