

COCKE, Charles Wilson, age 69 of Hermitage, passed away Monday, Sept. 13, 2010 after a 2 ½ year battle with cancer. Born 1-27-1941 in White Bluff, TN to the late William Chester and Loretta Goodman Cocke, he is also preceded by his brother, Harold. Mr. Cocke was a basketball stand-out for William James High School class of 1959 and a graduate from Austin Peay State University in 1963. He taught school in the Metro Nashville system for 32 years. Survived by his wife of 44 years, Gail Loyd Cocke; 2 sons, Brack (Jessica) and Benjamin (Mary) Cocke; 4 grandchildren, Austin, Annaliese, Tanner and Cadence Cocke; 1 step-granddaughter, Carly Suhm; sister, Sharon Reed; 2 brothers, Willard and Dennis Cocke; 3 loving aunts, Helen Ross, Sue (Lee, Jr.) Duke and Ruby Nelle Larkins. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 18, 2010 in Hermitage Funeral Home Chapel with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Inurnment will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
