He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Doris (Weaver) Dickerson; daughter, Karen Jones (Vic); son, David Dickerson; grandchildren, James Dave Jones and Katherine "Kate" Jones.
Mr. Dickerson was very kind and compassionate and was a teacher for Metro-Nashville Public Schools, teaching math for 20 years at McGavock High School. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 7:00 pm Monday, December 22, 2014, at Hermitage Funeral Home with Dr. Alec Cort officiating. Vistitation with the family will be 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
