

Dan Sumner Allen III, age 89 a resident of Nashville Tennessee, passed away on Saturday August 24th, 2024 after a long battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ronelda Elam Allen, parents, Dan Sumner Allen Sr., and Lelia Dews Allen.
He is survived by his children, Dan S. Allen IV, Bill Allen (Cricket Allen), Terri Atwood (David Atwood), and Julie Golden. He has 9 wonderful grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
Dan was a graduate of Isaac Litton High School and a Navy Veteran during the Korean War, in active duty as an electronics technician, honorably discharged in 1954. He was an IBM Executive and Educator. He served as a Commissioner on the Lebanon Airport Commission. He was an avid Aviator and Private Pilot, completing 1,200+ flight missions for under privileged kids and scouts. The flight provided them with the opportunity to go to the EAA Summer Camp in Oshkosh Wisconsin. He served as the past President of the Brandywine Place Homeowners Association for many years. Dan touched the lives of many people in his lifetime and will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers he would love for donations to go to the Lebanon Airport Experimental Aircraft Association chapter 863. A celebration of life will follow in the next few weeks for Dan and his Wife Ronelda who passed away in January.
Visitation for Dan and Ronelda Allen at Victory Baptist Church Friday Nov. 15 from 10am to 12pm. Celebration of Life for Dan and Ronelda Allen will follow at 12 pm at Victory Baptist Church.
