I met Dave last year when I came over from the Board of Probation and Parole to join the TDOC Team. Dave served our country in the Navy in Honor and retired to begin his second career in public service. He was very helpful to me as a TDOC Team Member and I will remember his eagerness to help a new person and eventually become a friend. His service to our country and Our Good Lord prepared him for his Spirit's next and everlasting change to be with our Father in Heaven. May God Bless your family and friends as they grieve the loss of your companionship, but celebrate your Joy in Heaven. A short term friend on earth, but a lasting friend in Spirit.

I got to know David one morning during a fire drill exercise.  Being new to the department I did not really know anyone and his face was familiar because he had helped me with my computer.  He greeted me with a friendly smile and we talked while overlooking the grounds surrounding the capitol.  

Somehow our conversation turned to roller derby.  We laughed so hard talking about the Bay Area Bombers and their Captain Charlie O'Connell.  David amazed me by sharing that Charlie had actually been his neighbor and he knew him pretty well.  I will never forget the sparkle in his eyes as he relieved the fun he had watching roller derby and personally knowing one of the sport's legends.

David had such a wonderful sense of humor and I will miss him.  I know that he is resting peacefully with our Savior now and will someday be reunited with his loving family.  God bless and keep each of you until then.

I had the privilege of working with Dave in TDOC MIS for several years, as well.  Dave was always gung-ho and goal-focused, when I worked with him.  There were several times we worked out in the field at various sites together all day long, and Dave's job focus and expertise coupled with his joshing around with us made the days go very well.  I will miss him.  My deepest sympathies to all his family, may you be assured that he is in the best of Hands, now.

David and I worked for MIS, Correction and he became a go to person at work and was always willing to offer his knowledge and support. Because I care, I share your sorrow.
