He was born in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late Benjamin Thompson and Betty Rettew Thompson. He served our country in the United States Marine Corps. He retired from Bouchard & Sons as a fire protection inspector after 30+ years of service. David loved going fast and anything that went fast. He enjoyed cars, boats, and drag racing. He had an infectious personality and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Donna Thompson; daughter, Charlsi Wallace; brothers, Pete Thompson and Mike (Shannon) Thompson; sister, Janet (Hugh) Charlton; beloved border collie, Lucy; and several extended family members and friends.
A Gathering to Celebrate David’s Life will be at Hermitage Funeral Home on Saturday, June 1, 2019 beginning at 2:00 pm with a rendering of Military Honors at 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2000 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville, Tennessee 37203.
