

Dorothy (Dot) was raised in Clarksville and was a 1951 graduate of Clarksville High School. She and Jim married in December, 1954 and were married 64 years. In addition to being a loving, caring mother, Dot also enjoyed playing golf and bridge. She was still active in two different bridge clubs just weeks before her passing. She was an active member of Hermitage United Methodist Church and the Anti-Can’t Sunday School Class. Family was of utmost importance in her life, and she greatly loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and large extended family. She was a wonderful woman who will be dearly missed by her loving family, friends and all that had the opportunity to know her.
Preceded in death by her husband, James Neal Holeman, Jr., her mother, Elizabeth Morrison Slate, and her father, Ernest Roland Slate. Survived by her daughters Janet(Michael) Tate(Huntsville), and Susan (Michael) Renshaw (Hermitage);grandchildren, Kelly (Brett) Davenport (Huntsville), Rachel (Bradford) St. Clair (Franklin), Eric (Ashton) Renshaw (Clermont, FL), Jarrett (Samantha Parrish) Tate (Chicago), Jordan (Molly Houle) Tate (Grand Rapids), Alex (Matthew) Edwards (Huntsville); great-grandchildren, Taylor Grace Davenport, William Holeman Davenport, Hudson Brett Davenport, Harper Adeline Davenport, Miles Alexander Tate, Grayson Neal St. Clair, Baker Larson St. Clair, Maxwell Benjamin Tate, and Henry James Renshaw.
There will be a Celebration of Life for her on Saturday March 29 at 2 pm at Hermitage United Methodist Church with a visitation from 1 pm until 2 pm. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Hermitage United Methodist Church or St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
